Artists of the Styx
Since 2022, up to three artists each year have spent 12 weeks exploring the Pūharakekenui | Styx River catchment, interpreting its landscapes, ecology, and stories through creative practice.
Each artist brings a unique perspective — drawing inspiration from the awa, its communities, and the changing environment.
Discover the Pūharakekenui through the eyes, hands, and senses of our Creative Communicators.
Staff
The Styx Living Laboratory Trust is supported by a small, dedicated team who work across restoration, research, education, community engagement, and day-to-day operations.
Our staff bring specialist knowledge, hands-on experience, and a deep commitment to caring for the Pūharakekenui | Styx River catchment.
Their work helps turn long-term vision into action — supporting projects, partnerships, and the many people who connect with the awa.
Trustees
The work of the Styx Living Laboratory Trust is shaped by a group of passionate Governing Trustees who give their time, skills, and leadership to support the awa and its communities.
Each Trustee, past and present, has played an important role in guiding the Trust’s direction, strengthening partnerships, and championing restoration and education across the catchment.
We acknowledge and thank all who have contributed to the Trust’s governance and long-term vision.
