For over 20 years, we’ve been restoring the Pūharakekenui | Styx River catchment.

We’re a local river care group dedicated to research, restoration, and community involvement in Ōtautahi Christchurch’s third-largest river — protecting its water quality, ecology, and heritage for generations to come.

The Styx Living Laboratory Trust leads this work through partnerships with volunteers, schools, and scientists — advancing hands-on environmental restoration and research across the Pūharakekenui | Styx River catchment.
